FAQ – Some questions we get frequently asked about our skis and their answers
WHAT ARE THE T&C's OF YOUR BINDINGS COMPETITION?
2. The prize draw is being run by Fauna Skis Ltd
Eligibility to enter
3. The prize draw is open to entrants over 18 years of age with no restriction on location.
4. In entering the prize draw, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim any
prize you may win.
5. A maximum of one entry per individual is permitted.
6. The prize draw is free to enter with a valid purchase.
How to enter
7. To enter the prize draw simply purchase any pair of Fauna Skis before 6th November 2021
8. If you are the lucky winner, you will be contacted using the email provided during checkout.
9. Fauna Skis will not accept responsibility if contact details provided are incomplete or inaccurate.
The prize
10. The prize will be one pair of Tyrolia Attack 13 GW Black 95mm Brake Bindings.
11. Fauna Skis use of particular brands as prizes does not imply any affiliation with or endorsement of
such brands.
12. The winner will be drawn at random.
13. The prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternatives will be offered, unless Tyrolia Bindings are purchased alongside the skis, in the event of which, the value of the bindings will be refunded.
14. We reserve the right to substitute prizes with another prize of equal or higher value if
circumstances beyond our control make it necessary to do so.
15. The decision of Fauna Skis regarding any aspect of the prize draw is final and binding and no
correspondence will be entered into about it.
Winner announcement
16. The winner will be notified after 6th November 2021 via the email provided during checkout.
17. Fauna Skis will attempt to contact the winner by email up to two times.
18. If the winner does not respond to the emails notifying them of their win within 14 days of the
second email, they will lose their right to the prize, and Fauna Skis reserves the right to choose and
notify a new winner.
Receipt of the prize
19. Please allow 14 days for delivery of the prize or alternative collection or delivery arrangements may be made through mutual agreement. Data protection and publicity
20. You consent to any personal information you provide in entering the prize draw being used by Fauna Skis for the purposes of administering the prize draw, and for those purposes as defined within our privacy notice.
21. All entrants may apply for details of the winning participant by contacting us at info@faunaskis.com
22. The winner agrees to the release of their first & last name to any other prize draw participants if requested via Fauna Skis.
23. An announcement of the winners first & last name will be made via Fauna Skis Instagram & Facebook.
24. All personal information shall be used in accordance with Fauna Skis Privacy Notice.
Limitation of Liability
25. Fauna Skis does not accept any liability for any damage, loss, injury or disappointment suffered by any entrants as a result of either participating in the prize draw or being selected for a prize, save that Fauna Skis does not exclude its liability for death or personal injury as a result of its own negligence.
26. Fauna Skis does not provide any form of practical or IT support for this prize. On receipt, all responsibilities relating to warranty and the product are that of the prize winner.
General
27. Fauna Skis reserves the right to cancel the prize draw or amend these terms and conditions at any time, without prior notice.
28. The prize draw and these terms and conditions will be governed by Scottish law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Scotland.
ARE THE SKIS MADE ENTIRELY OF WOOD?
The core of the skis are ash & paulownia in different balances depending on the ski, the sidewalls are walnut sidewall and the topsheet is a coated hardwood veneer. Other than that the rest of the ski is what you have come to expect from high performance skis. Fibreglass and carbon for reinforcement; sintered P-TEX for the base; hardened steel edges, all pressed together with ski epoxy.
DO YOU SHIP TO….?
We will happily ship our skis to just about anywhere in the world. Anywhere the major couriers will deliver to, we ship our skis to.
DO YOUR SKIS COME WITH A WARRANTY?
All of our skis come with a 2 year manufacturers defect warranty, and if you have a problem with your skis which doesnt fall under our warranty, we will do our best to come up with a solution which satisfies. Got a problem? Get in contact at info@faunaskis.com and we’ll happily help.
HOW DURABLE ARE THE WOOD TOPSHEET & SIDEWALLS?
The topsheets are coated with a durable epoxy which binds through the wood fibres meaning it resists chipping & scratching. The sidewalls are coated with teak oil sealing them from moisture and hardening them to impacts.
HOW DO YOU MEASURE YOUR SKIS?
The ski measurements are the post-pressing length as opposed to most large companies which use the flat material length, meaning their skis ski short compared to ours. If you’re unsure about ski length drop us a message on facebook, instragram or in an email at info@faunaskis.com
DO YOUR SKIS COME WITH BINDINGS?
As standard, the skis do not come with bindings installed. Either through addition on the website from our limited selection or if there is a specific binding you would like please get in contact at info@faunaskis.com and we will put together a package deal for you including binding set-up.
DO I NEED TO WAX MY SKIS WHEN I GET THEM?
All of our skis come with a factory wax as standard. Depending on the snow conditions, this tends to last for a few days before we recommend taking them to your local ski shop for a wax service or to buy wax to do it yourself.
WHERE ARE YOUR SKIS MADE?
All of our skis start their design life in our workshop in Edinburgh, Scotland. Following multiple iterations of designs & testing, the main production of the skis is based in the Praefect factory in Bobrova, Czech Republic.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I WOULD LIKE TO RETURN MY SKIS?
If your skis are unmounted and undamaged by you, we will organise collection from a courier to send them back to us free of charge and issue you with a refund, not just for 14 days from reciept, we’ll accept undamadged and unmounted skis for just about forever. Even if the skis are used and you want to return them, please get in contact at info@faunaskis.com and we will see what we can do.
